Freighter Cruises Information for passengers embarking/disembarking with/without vehicles in Ashdod, Israel

Updated information received from Grimaldi Freighter Travel port agent in Ashdod concerning passengers embarking and disembarkaing with/without vehicles.
The following fees apply and are payable on embarkation/disembarkation at Israel:

- Passengers disembarking at Ashdod with a vehicle have to pay $ 75 handling fees payable in cash only (in USD, EUR OR NIS)at the port agents office.
Passengers disembarking at Ashdod without a vehicle will not pay any fees.
In order to release vehicle from custom there is no need of custom broker
for income vehicles.

- Passengers embarking at Ashdod with a vehicle pay $ 25 per passenger + $ 50 per vehicle. Passengers embarking at Ashdod without a vehicle pay only $ 25 per passenger.
Above payment in cash only (USD, EUR OR NIS) at port agents office.

- The amount for custom broker for embarking a vehicle is $ 200
payable directly to the custom broker which can be chosen by the
passenger, Sea Travel usually recommend CarShipUK forwarding agency.

- The fees due to be paid at Ashdod port change according to vehicle's
Weight. The payment is calculated according to the vehicle weight.

Moreover there is also an exit tax which amount depends on the last entry
of the car to Israel which is mentioned on the temporary visa of the car that passengers receive when crossing the border. This tax is to be paid directly to the port only in Shekels, which amount is between 300-500 Nis (100-200 USD).

The Special offer is applicable on circular voyages on EURO MED, EURO AEGEAN and EURO ADRIATIC Freighter Cruises and will be applied to departures between 1st October 2011 to 31st March 2012.
All circular voyages will be with 20% discount per person taken off the published passenger fare.
The discount will be applied in addition to the Grimaldi Freighter Club membership's reduction and has to be requested at the time of booking.
